Couples Counseling At Collaborative Changes Counseling

Every couple has a story.

Maria* and John* started like most couples, in love and confident that they would overcome any challenge they faced. A few years later, and a couple of kids, their passion and confidence were in a different place.

Maria felt misunderstood and felt John didn’t prioritize her. John thought he couldn’t do anything right in Maria’s eyes and always came last. He couldn’t remember the last time they were intimate or had a date night. They felt more like roommates than life partners.

They tried reading relationship books together and even went to a marriage retreat once, but nothing lasted. It wasn’t long before both wondered if life with someone else would be better.

But what about the kids? What about the vows made at the beginning, the optimism, and hope for their future? Was there a way out and a way forward without creating more pain and getting messy?

If the story is not going how you thought, you can change it.

Relationships (romantic, familial, or platonic) CAN be improved, changed, and bettered, sometimes requiring only a little support.

With relationship or couples therapy, you’ll learn to communicate your feelings and needs and get what you want out of your relationships.

But you don’t have to come as a couple. Sometimes a partner doesn’t want to go to therapy, or your issues are with another family member. It’s alright to seek counseling alone for individual support to learn to increase intimacy and connection.

Don’t let anything stop you from making the change that you know is needed.

Counseling is for people who want to succeed…

…but may not know where to start. Within the first few weeks of therapy, you’ll have tools that create connections and clarify communication.

Through a thorough assessment using the Gottman methods for treatment, we will identify the specific challenges in the relationships, and you will be given a roadmap to a better relationship.

You can get close again, feel listened to and understood, have your partner engaged effectively in communication, and trust again (even if there has been a betrayal).

This change can happen but don’t wait. On average, couples wait six years after problems begin to get help.

You can start getting the support and tools you need today by contacting us.
